Building A Legacy
When Meyer Lab was created in 1978, founder Russ Meyer, had one goal in mind – to support his family. Russ’ focus was to provide a commodity that would be sustainable and would provide repeat sales. This led him to begin his business by selling institutional cleaning supplies. Greeting each customer with an honest smile, a firm handshake and a commitment to partner with them has been a staple throughout the 42 years that Meyer Laboratory has been in business.
Meyer Lab, now in its second generation of operation under the leadership of President Rusty Meyer, employs 130 people across the United States and Canada. In addition to its 120,000 sq. ft headquarters/production facility in Kansas City, Meyer runs operations in Charlotte and Winnipeg. Meyer is very proud of its unique family culture and its executive leadership team operates with the mentality of, “People over profits”.
4 Core Values
The Meyer Lab family practices 4 Core Values that permeate throughout each facet of its business:
As a sales-driven company, Meyer Lab employs people that not only align with their 4 Core Values, but that also have the propensity to work well with their core customer base (i.e., industrial manufacturers, distribution centers, concrete/asphalt producers, institutions).
According to Hailey Dunham, Director of Employee Relations, Meyer Lab is in a significant (yet steady) growth phase and aims to double its staff in the coming years. Part of that process involves enhancing their technological stack, as it pertains to customer service and internal communications, to maintain Meyer’s signature “family feel” across state lines and national borders.
